THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

The volunteering experience was fantastic. I have never felt what I felt in this amazing trip, helping the others when they have nothing, not even a roof or a place where to sleep because their homes were destructed by this terrifying and unpredictable earthquake, was unic.
I was one of the volunteers of a group of one organisation named (WUA) World Urgent Assistance; which consist in many groups of people that go to different countries that have some problems or need some help with something to help them, not only in a material way like the reconstruction of houses and buildings or providing food and medication but also in a moral way, listen to them, giving them strength to survive these horrible accidents and let them know that everyone can survive these things and they are not the exception of it.
In Nepal I lived the best moments of my life! I make a lot of friends of different parts of the world. The local people was so grateful to us and good that I didn't want to return to Uruguay. The children were the most polite of the entire earth and they spoke to you with such a kindness...
We cooked together, we played together and I read them stories at night. With the adults I reconstructed the houses and I had intense conversations with them.
I felt that they trusted me, they believed me when I said to them I could help them, not only they trusted me, they allowed me to become one of them, I felt like another of them and that for me was the best of this experience.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Finally I'm here!!! I can't wait to help all this people and try to better their lives. I'm in Nepal doing a volunteering to help the people that suffer the earthquake this year to reconstruct their houses, take care of the children and let them knowing that I'm here for them and to help them with all they needs.

Mountains and lake of Nepal
I have never been in this country, in fact I have never been in Asia. I'm wordless, Nepal is amazing it has beautiful mountains and lakes. The constructions are unic, they are very different from those of my country. The views are incredible and the nature is awesome, I saw animals that I didn't knew about their existence like the yaks.
I couldn't be more happy. For once in my whole life I'm feeling useful, I feel that I'm doing something good for another human being that isn't me and this make me feel a better person and improve my way of life. I have to accept that I miss my family a little bit and when I got off the plane I felt sadness and anger. Why this people had to suffer this? I was devastated but I knew that if I was sad I wouldn't accomplish my mission which was helping these persons, so I change my mentality and start to think positive.
